Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about what Bourse Prep is, and what it isn't.

Is Bourse Prep affiliated with or endorsed by CISI?

No. Bourse Prep is an independent exam preparation provider. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced in partnership with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), the UAE Capital Market Authority (formerly the Securities and Commodities Authority), any exchange or any UAE authority.

Are the questions real exam questions?

No. Every question on Bourse Prep is independently authored practice material designed to test the same syllabus concepts as the real exam. None of the content is a real, recalled, or leaked examination question.

Does using Bourse Prep guarantee I'll pass?

No preparation product can guarantee an exam result. Bourse Prep is designed to help you practise thoroughly and understand the material, but your result depends on your own preparation and performance on the day.

What does the free demo include?

Each course has its own free demo: up to 15 sample questions (choose 5, 10 or 15) covering all 8 of its syllabus chapters, with full explanations, at no cost and with no account required. The two courses are never mixed in one demo. Choose a demo.

How many questions are in the full bank?

The full ICWIM bank contains 1,200 exam-style practice questions, weighted across all 8 syllabus chapters to reflect the current exam structure. The UAE FRR bank contains 700, across its own 8 chapters.

Is the Read aloud voice a real person?

No. Read aloud, an ICWIM feature, uses an AI-generated voice, created with OpenAI's text-to-speech from Bourse Prep's own question text. Each recording is made in advance, so playing one sends nothing about you to OpenAI. While a recording plays, the words "AI-generated voice" appear beside the Stop button.

What is the best way to read an ICWIM question?

Read the whole question before you look at the options. Many ICWIM questions carry their answer in the wording: what is actually being asked, who is acting, and small words such as "most likely", "best" or "not". Many wrong answers come from reading the first half and choosing the option that looks familiar. Calculation questions are different: there, knowing the formula and working it through step by step matters most. More on exam technique in our ICWIM exam tips.

Why are some ICWIM amounts in pounds?

ICWIM is an international qualification from CISI, a UK body, so some Bourse Prep ICWIM questions use pounds sterling and a few use US dollars. The working is the same in any currency: the formula and the steps do not change. UAE FRR questions use UAE dirhams. Bourse Prep's prices are set in UAE dirhams (AED).

Will more courses be added?

Yes. Bourse Prep is built to support several certifications under one account. UAE Financial Rules and Regulations is the second course, and more may follow.

How is UAE FRR different from ICWIM?

ICWIM covers wealth and investment management: markets, products, economics, portfolio management and advice, with calculations. UAE FRR covers the rules of the UAE capital market: the regulator, licensed firms, funds, markets and listing, anti-money laundering, client protection, and trading on the UAE exchanges. It is a rules exam with few calculations. More about UAE FRR.

Do I need to take both exams?

It depends on your role. Under the UAE capital market regulator's licensing regime, UAE FRR is taken together with other CISI exams for specific roles, and many candidates sit it alongside ICWIM. Your employer's compliance team can confirm which exams your role needs.

Can I buy one course without the other?

Yes. Each course is bought on its own, and buying one does not open the other. If you need both, a two-course plan covers ICWIM and UAE FRR for 90 or 180 days, for less than the two bought separately. See pricing.

Can I use the same login for both courses?

Yes. One account holds every course you buy. You sign in once.

How do I switch between courses?

In the app, a course switcher beside the Bourse Prep logo lists the courses on your account. Choose one and its own Today, Practice and Master Exam screens open. Each course keeps its own chapters, progress and readiness.

How long does access last?

Each plan runs for a fixed number of days from the day access is switched on: 30, 90 or 180 days. The dates are kept per course, so two courses can run on different dates.

How are regulatory changes handled in UAE FRR?

The exam tests the rules in the study material for its syllabus. Where UAE law has changed since, Bourse Prep keeps the answer the exam expects and adds a separate Update note explaining the change, so you learn the exam rule without being misled about today's law. Regulatory updates explained.

What is the difference between the exam rule and the law today?

The exam rule is the rule as the study material states it, which is what the exam marks. The law today may differ where a law or decision has since been replaced. For the exam, learn the exam rule. At work, check the current text with the regulator, which is the authority on current law.

How do I report a question I think is wrong?

From inside the app: open Help, choose Report a question, and the question's reference is attached automatically. Every report is checked against the syllabus before anything changes. Help and support.

What happens when the syllabus changes?

Each course follows a named CISI syllabus version, stated on its course page: ICWIM Version 7 and UAE FRR Version 4.2. When CISI publishes a new version, we review the bank against it and update the course page to say which version the questions follow. Always check the current version on the CISI website before you book.

Is there a money-back guarantee?

Yes. Every plan carries a 3-day, 100% money-back guarantee. If the platform is not right for you, request a refund within 3 days of your access being switched on and the full amount is returned.

How is my access tracked if I study more than one course?

Access is granted per course, with its own start and end dates. If you hold access to one course but not the other, the other stays locked until you buy access to it. Your progress, Master Exams and readiness are kept separately for each course.

Is my payment information secure?

Bourse Prep does not take card payments, so there are no card details to store. Access is arranged directly with us by bank transfer: you send a short enquiry, we email you the account details and a reference, and access is switched on once the transfer is confirmed.

What's coming next?

Timed calculation drills for ICWIM are in development, and more Rules Lab tools for UAE FRR will follow.
