What the exam is

UAE Financial Rules and Regulations (FRR) is a CISI examination on the rules that govern the UAE's capital markets: the regulator and its powers, licensed firms, investment funds, markets and listing, anti-money laundering, client protection, and trading and settlement on the exchanges. Under the UAE capital market regulator's licensing regime it is taken together with other CISI exams for specific roles, and many candidates sit it alongside ICWIM. It is not required for every role: check which exams yours needs with your employer's compliance team.

Who it is for

People working, or starting to work, in licensed roles in the UAE capital market: brokerage, fund management, investment advice and promotion, custody and operations, compliance, and the people who supervise them. If your firm has asked you to sit FRR, this course is built for exactly that paper.

The exam at a glance

CISI's published syllabus (version 4.2, effective 10 September 2023) sets 100 multiple-choice questions in two hours, across eight elements. Our bank follows the same eight chapters:

The study workbook is a separate CISI publication (Edition 4, workbook version 4.5). Bourse Prep does not reproduce it. CISI updates its syllabuses, so check the current version on the CISI website before you book.

How Bourse Prep prepares you

700 original questions

Written to syllabus 4.2 and reviewed with an experienced UAE FRR instructor. Every question is mapped to a learning objective, at Foundation, Intermediate or Advanced level.

An explanation for every answer

The principle behind the right answer, why the option you chose is wrong, and, inside "I do not understand this", the same rule in plain words.

Exam rule and current law, kept apart

Where the law has changed since the exam material, 134 questions carry a separate Update note. The exam answer is never silently replaced. How we handle law changes.

Full Master Exams

100 questions in two hours, with each chapter's share matching the exam's eight elements. Closely related questions never appear in the same paper.

Readiness for FRR

Bourse Prep's own standard, set for a 700-question bank: coverage, first-answer accuracy, every chapter's minimum and your recent Master Exams. It is not a prediction of your result.

Rules Lab and chapter guides

Eight chapter guides, comparisons of rules that sound alike, decision paths and a numbers trainer. Open Rules Lab.

Formula Lab, Ask Bourse Prep and the read-aloud audio are ICWIM features. They are not part of the UAE FRR course at launch.

Access

One account and one login for both courses. Access is bought per course, so buying one does not open the other, and each course keeps its own progress, Master Exams and readiness. UAE FRR plans start at an introductory AED 99 for 30 days, and a two-course plan covers ICWIM and UAE FRR together; see Pricing.
